From what I understand, the main reason thye need to defend the yen is for oil. If they can figure out a work around for oil, maybe they can let the yen weaken further in the short term, but who really knows
the other big factor is the debt to GDP that Japan has
Japan is the only country in history that has held that level of debt for that long without outright collapsing, so
